Israel's Health Ministry announced Friday morning that 349 new coronavirus cases had been confirmed in Israel.

This is the first time since April that the number of new cases has topped 300. Since Sunday, a total of 1,256 new coronavirus cases have been diagnosed, for a total of 3,171 new cases since the beginning of June.

The number of active cases currently stands at 4,372, compared to 1,900 at the end of May.

Currently, Israel has seen 304 coronavirus deaths. Since Thursday, 16,369 coronavirus tests have been performed.

On Thursday afternoon, a Knesset committed declared neighborhoods in the Israeli Arab towns Rahat and Arara an-Naqab in the Negev as restricted areas under emergency regulations, following a renewed outbreak of the coronavirus in these neighborhoods. The Ajami, Hisachon, and Tzahalon neighborhoods in Jaffa were also declared subject to restrictions, including school closures and bans on gatherings of more than 10 people.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned that Israel may face a second lockdown if the public fails to adhere to current social distancing requirements.
