The Knesset factions are expected to reduce the usual summer recess from 3 months to just 2-3 weeks, Reshet Bet reported Sunday morning.

According to the report, the MKs want the Knesset to continue at full activity even during the summer months when the Knesset is usually not in session.

In order to facilitate the move, negotiations have recently been held between the chair of the Knesset House Committee, MK Eitan Ginzburg, and the Knesset workers' committee.

According to the report, there are two primary reasons for the move, to act in line with the public's mood and to allow the Knesset to finally resume full activity after a year and a half of campaigning.

The MKs also want to allow the passage of the Budget Law for legislation during the summer months, as well as bills to combat the coronavirus, legislation which require the Knesset to operate at full capacity The Knesset may also be required to convene to vote on the issue of applying sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria.
