Coalition chairman MK Miki Zohar (Likud) was interviewed on Saturday night on Channel 12 News’ “Meet the Press” program and discussed Israeli plans to apply sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria.

"The Prime Minister wants to apply sovereignty to at least 30 percent of the territories of Judea and Samaria. He wants to bring about a situation in which it will even be possible to travel on the roads within Judea and Samaria. The Prime Minister does not intend to promote the establishment of a Palestinian state," said Zohar.

At that point, MK Ahmed Tibi (Joint List) interrupted the coalition chairman and said, "It is neither annexation nor sovereignty - it is apartheid and the deepening of the occupation, which stops the establishment of a Palestinian state. There is no symmetry between the conqueror and those who were conquered."

MK Eitan Ginzburg (Blue and White) said his faction "believes and announced that we believe in the principles of the complete Trump plan. There are many layers to this plan. We have said that the issue of applying sovereignty also includes international agreement and dialogue with our neighbors. What is important is to keep Israel Jewish and democratic. Applying sovereignty is not a goal we should sanctify. We believe that settlement blocs should always remain in Israeli territory and should be part of the State of Israel, but part of an overall agreement."

At this point, Tibi intervened in the discussion again, saying, "This apartheid is not an Israeli internal game. There is another main player and that it is the Palestinians that this land is theirs. I believe their response will be different."

Zohar replied, "As for what Eitan said, that we might agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state, I announce here in the studio – it will happen, we will not recognize this principle. As chairman of the coalition, as someone who needs to achieve a majority in the Knesset, I say that there will be no majority in the Knesset for the establishment of a Palestinian state."
