Employees of the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) on Friday morning went on strike for one hour, but returned to work after Transportation Minister Miri Regev (Likud) intervened, promising to broker an agreement with the Finance Ministry, Israel Hayom reported.

On Friday morning, just before 10:00a.m., the IAA announced a general strike, across all airports in Israel, including Ben Gurion International Airport and the Ramon Airport in southern Israel.

After a meeting between Regev and the Finance Ministry was scheduled for Monday, the Workers' Committee of the Israel Airports Authority announced that it would put all protests on hold.

For her part, Regev has accused the Treasury of being responsible for the strike, telling Channel 12 News that "Finance Ministry officials are acting like they own the country."

"They are handling the crisis terribly."
