A group of British Jewish activists from across the political spectrum released a video message Monday backing Israel’s plan to apply sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and Israeli towns in Judea and Samaria.

“We are young British Jews whose voices speak for the unheard many. For too long now, out voices have been ignored. Enough is enough, said Ruchama Tannen, one of the activists behind the video.

“This video is made up of people with different views, beliefs, affiliations and movements, we’ve all come together behind this one cause, because we truly believe in it,” said Mia Gray, another activist featured in the video.

The activists cited three reasons for backing Israel’s sovereignty plan:

1) “Jewish presence has existed in these territories [Judea and Samaria] for thousands of years preceeding Ottoman rule,” said Elisha Tannen. “These lands define Israel.”

“Judea and Samaria is such a central part of the Jewish religion and Jewish history and Jewish culture, that any Jewish person and any Zionist, whether they’re right-wing or left-wing, Orthodox, Reform, or secular, should in their heart feel sad if we were to have to give it away,” said former Bnei Akiva national director Ben Dov.

2) Under the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem, and Gaza were all designated for a Jewish state – a mandate which is still valid under Article 80 of the United Nations Charter.

3) Retaining Judea and Samaria “is a security must for Israel”.
