At least 20 people were hurt after an arch bridge collapsed in eastern Taiwan Tuesday. The incident occurred in the island the town of Nanfangao on the Pacific coast.

An oil tanker truck which was attempting to cross the bridge fell onto three boats navigating the river below. The truck also caught fire.

Six people, all foreigners, are still missing.

60 military personnel, a military helicopter, and several fishing boats have been dispatched to search for the victims.

The collapse occurred hours after the island was struck by Typhoon Mitag. Officials refused to speculate as to whether the typhoon caused the collapse.
