IDF officers brief Russian counterparts on Northern Shield

The IDF delegation to Moscow, led by Operations Directorate head Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva will return to Israel tonight following meetings between the two militaries' senior officials.

During the meeting that was held after a conversation between the leaders of the two countries and was reportedly conducted in a positive and professional atmosphere, IDF officers presented details of Operation Northern Shield to their Russian counterparts.

In addition, a central topic that was discussed was improving the two militaries' conflict prevention system in the northern region. During the meeting, the IDF also presented its policy to continue operating to prevent Iranian entrenchment and the arming of Hezbollah in Syria.

"The delegations reached understandings and agreed to continue in their joint work," said an IDF statement.
