פיגוע ירי בצומת עפרהנעה אורי - TPS

MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) responded to Sunday evening’s terrorist attack at the Ofra junction in Binyamin, in which seven people were wounded, including a 21-year-old pregnant woman who is in serious condition.

"Another day, another attack. Mr. Prime Minister, until today you still had someone to blame for the helplessness of the security forces. This is it, there are no more excuses. Enter a room with the defense minister and bring security. It’s your job, it’s your responsibility. The lives of Israeli citizens are not a game. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery," Smotrich said.

Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan called for retaliation against the Palestinian Authority. "Unfortunately, even after the terrible terror attack in the Barkan industrial zone, and after the attacks that followed it at the Samaria Brigade Junction and the Giti Avisar Junction, there were no reprisals by the security forces against the Palestinian Authority and the terror cells.”

"The method of containment does not work. The method of surgical treatment of terrorists is not sufficient. We continue this policy and we are suffering another serious attack tonight, and I cannot promise that there will be no more such murderous terror attacks," he added.

"I call on the prime minister, who is also the defense minister, to order the IDF to go out tonight and retaliate against the Palestinian Authority in the area from where these murderous terrorists came out. We have to deal with them as if we are a small country. We are a big and powerful country and we are losing our deterrence. This leads to one attack after the other," Dagan warned.

MK Motti Yogev (Jewish Home) said in response to the attack that "in light of the recent increase in terror attacks and casualties in Judea and Samaria, the Defense Ministry and the IDF are presenting budget cuts, cuts in forces and in the security components. The Government of Israel, the Ministry of Defense and the IDF are obligated to protect the residents of the north, the south and Judea and Samaria as part of the same responsibility. I will demand an urgent discussion tomorrow in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on plans to cut the budget in Judea and Samaria.”

Minister of Social Equality Gila Gamliel (Likud) responded to the attack and tweeted, "What kind of nation is this whose heroes are people who shoot a pregnant woman in the middle of the night. How do they want us to ever make peace with them?"

“I join in the prayers of the people of Israel for the recovery of all the wounded and strengthen the security forces who protect us from the barbaric terrorists and their supporters,” she added.
