Flooding: Dad, kids rescued by boat

A father and three children were rescued from their flooded car at Kfar Chabad. Emergency services evacuated 25 families near Lod.

A father and his three children were rescued today (Friday) by emergency services in a flooded section of road in central Israel.

The family was trapped in a car under a bridge at Kfar Chabad.

Emergency services and police also evacuated 25 families after several streets were flooded at Achiezer, near Lod.

Dozens of people have been rescued from cars caught in flood waters following the heavy rainfall since yesterday. Thirteen were rescued in Rehovot, 11 in Rishon Letzion and two in Ramle.

Traffic on Highway 20 – the Ayalon Freeway – was temporarily blocked from the Gelilot Interchange on the southbound lanes, and from the Ganot Interchange going north. The road was reopened in the esarly afternoon.
