Jay Shapiro claims that the severe massacre in Pittsburgh did not happen simply. According to him, there is a tendency to ignore the increasing anti-Semitism throughout the United States.

He also notes that people have forgotten the numerous antisemitic attacks in the United States particularly in the twentieth century.
