The governor emphasized "with a broken heart and tears in our eyes, we will dedicate our presence in the Holy Land to his memory."

The New York Consul General, Danny Dayan, accompanied the couple on their visit to Israel as part of the first economic delegation headed by the Governor of New Jersey to strengthen the economic, technological, commercial, academic and political ties between the State of New Jersey and the State of Israel.

"I share with the condolences of the Governor's family on the death of their loved ones," said Dayan, "Edward's love for Israel and the fact that the visit continues despite everything, express the close connection between the Jewish community in the United States and the State of Israel and the mutual commitment between the State of Israel and the United States" .
