The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee will discuss two residential construction plans in the Nahalat Shimon neighborhood for the first time since the city was liberated.

In total, 15 new housing units are to be built on two lots owned by Jews from abroad.

Aryeh King, the chairman of the United faction in the Jerusalem city council that is behind the move, said that the owners of the lots submitted the plans to the district committee more than seven years ago, and since then they have been moving slowly and were frozen by the order of the Prime Minister's Office.

On Thursday morning, notices were posted on Jewish homes in Nahalat Shimon. There are still Arabs in the houses who are being evicted.

These two plans join the approval of the 75 units in Beit Hanina, the 220 units in Nof Zion, and other plans that AryehKing as the manager of the Israel Lands Fund is involved in promoting.
