The United States Department of Defense published a video of the launching of the Tomahawk missiles which were launched at structures related to the Assad regime's chemical weapons program over the weekend.

On Friday night, the United States, Britain, and Franc attacked eight pre-selected targets in Syria in response to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's recent use of chemical weapons against civilians in Douma.

23 missiles were fired from the USS Higgins, the naval vessel seen in the Defense Department video.

The strike was carried out via air and sea, and included 105 cruise missiles aimed at the targets. According to Syrian media, three people were injured in an attack on a security facility in Homs.

In addition to the USS Higgins, the USS Monterrey, the USS Laboon, and the submarine USS John Warner also participated in the strike. Two B-1 Lancer bombers also launched air-to-surface missiles. A number of support aircraft participated in the operation.

US President Donald Trump praised the US, Britain, and France for the "perfectly executed" strikes. US Vice President Mike Pence stated that the strikes had "significantly degraded" Syria's program and its "ability to produce chemical weapons."
