MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) criticized the Foreign Ministry Sunday for vetoing the Austrian ambassador's participation in a special session to be held Monday at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee as part of the Israeli boycott of the Austrian Freedom Party.

"A disgrace," Glick wrote on his Twitter account. "The Foreign Ministry refuses to allow the Austrian ambassador to participate in the Knesset debate on Israel's relations with Austria."

Glick emphasized that the Foreign Ministry's action amounted to the silencing of public debate. "After this, they talk about boycotting Israel around the world." He called on he chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Avi Dichter (Likud), to ignore the ban imposed by the Foreign Ministry. "I call on the chairman of the committee to ignore this impertinent decision!"

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel imposed a boycott of the far-right Freedom Party party due to its racist and anti-Semitic background. Netanyahu, who is also Israel's foreign minister, ordered the Foreign ministry not to have ties with the party ministers in the Austrian Government.
