MK Merav Michaeli (Zionist Union), who is currently participating in a conference of the J Street lobby in Washington DC, strongly criticized the Likud-led government and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for giving too much clout to the Jewish Home party.

"I believe that the members of the Jewish Home know what they want, but the competition for 'who is more right wing' brings Knesset members from the Likud to legislation which I am not sure that they themselves understand its implications," she said.

Michaeli claims that the Jewish Home faction is the party that leads the government ideologically. "The difference between what happened to the last Netanyahu government, and what this government is doing, is that there were always charitable attempts at justification for security reasons."

"This government, which in practice is led ideologically by Bennett and Shaked, is not afraid to talk about annexation. 'To build the infrastructure of annexation,' as Justice Minister Shaked says," MK Michaeli added.
