Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau addressed the March of the Living on Holocaust Remembrance Day Thursday.

Rabbi Lau, who previously served as the Chief Rabbi of Israel, survived the Holocaust as a child. He was imprisoned at the age of seven in the Buchenwald death camp.

Rabbi Lau said that despite the fears of some that the memory of the Holocaust would begin to fade as the last of the Holocaust survivors passed on, the past three decades since the fall of the Iron Curtain have proven than the memory of the Holocaust will live on.

However, Rabbi Lau believes that the Holocaust will never be forgotten not only because of the heroic efforts to record testimony of survivors and to document the Nazi atrocities, but because "the world will never enable us to forget."

"They will always remind us 'you are Jewish,'" he said, adding that anti-Semitism will never disappear.
