A 40-year-old woman was stabbed in the afternoon, Wednesday, apparently by her husband, on Derech Shlomo street in Tel Aviv, and was critically wounded.

Medics treated her at the scene but, following resuscitation efforts, were forced to confirm the woman's death.

"A woman of about 40 lay on the floor unconscious, suffering from a number of stab wounds," said emergency medic Elior Yosef, who arrived first.

"I immediately began to administer medical treatment and CPR while stopping the bleeding, but her wound was serious and we ultimately had no choice but to confirm her death. "

Police arrested a man around 50 years of age, apparently her partner, suspected of the murder.
