A boy of about four was found this afternoon, Wednesday, unconscious in a car in the city of Netivot in southern Israel, and was taken to an apartment nearby.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics administered medical treatment and performed CPR on the boy, whose condition was defined as critical.

He was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva for further treatment but, after intensive resuscitation efforts by medical staff, died at the hospital.

MDA medic Uriel Dahan, who arrived at the scene, said, "Inside the house we saw a child of about 4 years, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, who felt hot and suffered from signs of heat stroke. We were told that he had been in a closed vehicle, apparently for a long time. We gave him medical treatment and carried out advanced and prolonged resuscitation techniques, and he was evacuated to Soroka Hospital in critical condition as CPR was performed on him."

Earlier, a four-year-old boy was killed by a truck in Jerusalem. MDA teams summoned to the scene were forced to confirm his death at the scene of the accident.
