Speaking at today’s cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu hailed the passage of the Taylor Force Act in the US Senate on Friday.

The act aims to cut funding to the Palestinian Authority (PA) if it continues to pay terrorists and their families.

The bipartisan bill was approved as part of a $1.3 trillion spending package to stave off a U.S.-wide government shutdown.

The legislation, named for U.S. army veteran Taylor Force who was murdered in a stabbing attack in Jaffa in March of 2016, was approved by the House of Representatives in December. It cleared the Senate before a Friday midnight deadline.

“I think that this is a powerful signal from the US, which is changing the rules. It is no longer ready to accept the truths of the past - or, rather, the falsehoods of the past - and live with them,” Netanyahu said today, Sunday.

The US, he said, was “simply revealing one falsehood after another and standing for one truth after another.”

“I congratulate the US congress and President Trump for these decisions, and I am sure that I do so in the name of all ministers of the Israeli government.”
