Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening thanked U.S. Vice President Mike Pence for his visit in Israel.

"It was a great honor to host Vice President Mike Pence in Israel. He gave exceptional expression to the powerful relationship between Israel and the United States, and we'll always remember his magnificent speech in the Knesset,” said Netanyahu before he left for the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Pence, a long-time backer of the Jewish state, left Israel earlier on Tuesday ending his trip to the region which began Saturday in Egypt.

The Vice President met with President Reuven Rivlin at the president’s residence in Jerusalem on Tuesday, before visiting the Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Center.

He concluded his trip to Israel by visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The Vice President placed a note in the Western Wall, then said a brief prayer.
