A-G summons deputy over criticism of Shaked

Attorney General clarifies that Deputy A-G should not make statements that imply criticism of elected officials.

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit spoke to with Deputy Attorney General Dina Zilber to clarify her position in response to her reported criticism of Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, journalist Kalman Lieberman reported in the Ma'ariv Hebrew newspaper.

Zilber, who took part in a conference at Bar Ilan University in honor of Supreme Court Justice Elyakim Rubinstein, said that "Eli's path of peace have changed the paths of governance."

Her statement appeared to a reference to an article published by Shaked in the Shiloach Magazine six months ago titled 'The Path to Democracy and Governance.' The article served as Shaked's credo.on how Israel should be governed.

Mandelblit summoned Zilber to his office for an unusual clarification and told her that she was expected to be cautious in her public statements and not to say things that could imply personal criticism of elected officials.
