About 100 lone soldiers participated on Wednesday night in a festive Hanukkah event in Tel Aviv, organized by the Food service of the IDF’s Technology and Logistics Directorate.
The event was meant to provide soldiers with a sense of family and a holiday atmosphere, in light of the fact that they are far away from their families or are not in contact with them at all.
The event included a festive meal, prepared by the culinary advisor of the IDF’s Food Service, Major Racheli Kadosh, who participated in the past in the reality show "Master Chef".
In addition, a festive candle lighting ceremony was held, led by IDF Colonel Eran Lapid, head of the IDF’s Food Service, who said that "the Food Service embraces the lone soldiers at all times and wishes the entire nation of Israel a happy Hanukkah."
In the coming days, IDF units will continue to light Hanukkah candles and celebrate the holiday, with many doughnuts prepared by the IDF’s Food Service being sent to all the bases throughout the country.
