A one-year-old toddler is in critical condition after an object became wrapped around her neck at a daycare in Bnei Brak Thursday morning, preventing her from breathing.

The child was found unconscious after the object wrapped around her neck.

Emergency volunteers from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) resuscitated the child. However, her condition remaned critical after she was brought to Schneider Children's Hospital in Petah Tikva.

An MDA paramedic said, "When I arrived at the scene, they led me to a child who was a year old and was unconscious. They told me that she was strangled by an object that was wrapped around her neck."

"I immediately began giving her medical treatment and carried out resuscitation efforts. A few minutes later the MDA mobile ambulance arrived and the girl was evacuated in very serious condition to Schneider Children's Hospital while continuing to receive life-saving care."
