US Vice President Mike Pence's upcoming visit to Israel will be delayed by several days, in order to allow him to participate in the Senate's vote on the proposed tax reforms.

It is expected that Pence will land in Israel next Wednesday.

During his visit, Pence will visit the Western Wall, for the first official visit since US President Donald Trump announced his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

In May, Trump visited the Western Wall, becoming the first sitting US president to do so.

While in Israel, Pence will also meet with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas will not meet with Pence, and Israel's Arab MKs have announced that they will boycott Pence's Knesset address.
