Two 27-year-old Israelis were killed on Thursday night in a car accident in the Philippines.

The two have been identified as Afik Shahar and Raz Tzruya, both residents of Rishon Lezion.

The Israeli Consul in the Philippines, Yafit Katzav, and the Department for Israelis Abroad have been working since the tragedy to transfer the bodies for burial in Israel with the assistance of the Israeli Consul General in Istanbul.

The coffins are expected to land in Israel on Sunday morning on a flight through Istanbul.

In October, 26-year-old Vered Avishar from Kibbutz Ein Hanatziv was killed in a Jeep accident in Nepal.

About a week earlier, 22-year-old Hila Livne from Tel Aviv was killed when she fell into a gorge during a hike in Kyrgyzstan.
