Israel police on Saturday evening found an additional rocket in the southern town of Sderot.

The rocket, which had been fired from Gaza on Friday night, damaged a Sderot preschool building.

On Friday evening, a rocket fired from Gaza exploded in Sderot, damaging several vehicles but causing no physical injuries. Earlier on Friday evening, two rockets fired from Gaza were intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system.

Israel Police called on residents to avoid the area, and to obey orders from the Home Front and other security agencies.

"I am convinced that the IDF and the security forces are doing all they can to protect Sderot's residents," Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi said Saturday night. "This is an unusual event, since a rocket has not fallen in our city for a long time. Thankfully, this event ended without anyone being harmed."

"This crosses a red line, and I trust that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) will know how to react in order to ensure the security of Sderot's residents. Our residents are listening to the Home Front Command, and I call on them to continue to do so. Anyone who needs to request any type of help can call the municipal hotline and the Hosen Center, and municipality workers and Hosen will provide the best service possible."

The Hosen Center provides emergency services to those living in Gaza Belt communities.

Meanwhile, the IDF is repairing part of the Gaza border fence after it was damaged by a rocket which landed nearby.

In addition, the IDF is investigating whether the rockets which landed in Sderot were the result of human error or a malfunction in Israel's Iron Dome.

Most rockets fired from Gaza and Sinai are intercepted by Iron Dome missiles, each of which costs approximately $50,000.
