Embassies in Middle East, Europe urge Americans to employ vigilance. In Turkey, mass protests near US diplomatic missions.

US embassies across the Middle East and Europe have warned Americans of the potential for violent protests, following the President Trump’s official recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

According to The Washington Post, American embassies in Turkey, Jordan, Germany, and Britain issued security alerts calling on Americans to employ vigilance and caution within minutes of the announcement, and other embassies are expected to follow with similar announcements.

In Turkey, hundreds are staging protests near US diplomatic missions in Ankara and Istanbul, according to The Times of Israel.

The US embassy in Jordan has says that it will temporarily close tomorrow. The children of embassy employees have been told to stay home from school and all Americans there are advised to keep a low profile.

US Embassies in Berlin, London and Minsk, Belarus issued similar warnings.
