Coalition chairwoman David Bitan announced following a meeting with Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and MK Shuli Moalem-Rafaeli that the coalition would resume its normal functions.

The coalition faced a potential crisis over disputes between the Likud and Jewish Home parties.

At the meeting, it was agreed that the 'French Law' which would prevent the police from submitting recommendations to indictments would be brought before the ministerial committee for legislation, but each faction would vote as it wished. It was also decided that the coalition parties would abide by the committee's decision. However, MK Bitan agreed to postpone the vote on the bill for one month.

Bitan had demanded that the 'French Law' be brought up for voting immediately, despite an agreement with the Jewish Home party that the legislation would be postponed for a month.

When Justice Minister Shaked refused to back down, Bitan ordered all legislation frozen. A coalition crisis was averted and work on passing legislation will resume following the compromise reached Monday night.
