Heavy rains force road closures in northern Israel

2.36 inches of rain cause road closures in Israel's north, forecast shows temperature drop and continued precipitation.

Heavy rains fell on Monday morning along Israel's northern coast and across the western Galilee.

The Haifa area received 60 millimeters (2.36") of rain. Several roads were closed due to flooding and reopened some time later.

Other areas in Israel's north and center received smaller amounts of rain, which are expected to lighten towards the afternoon. There will be a slight drop in temperatures over the course of Monday.

Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a chance of light local rains in the country's north and center.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly cloudy, with rainfall in Israel's north and center. Temperatures will be lower than the seasonal average, especially in the mountain regions.

Thursday will be partly cloudy, with a chance of local rain from Israel's north to the northern Negev.
