A pedestrian was killed overnight Monday when he was struck by a truck on Highway 4 near Moshav Ein Ayala, located in the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council, south of Haifa.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced the pedestrian dead. Following the accident, the road was blocked to traffic in both directions.
Police are investigating the accident.
On Monday morning, one person was killed and six others were injured in a car accident in western Samaria.
The accident occurred on Route 5066 near the Israeli town of Revava, west of Ariel, when a vehicle with Palestinian Authority license plates collided with several Israeli cars.
The injured included three Israelis and four Palestinian Arabs. One of the three Israelis, a 22-year-old woman, was evacuated by a Magen David Adm ambulance in moderate condition to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. Two other Israelis were listed as lightly injured.
Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
