One person was killed and six more injured in a car accident in western Samaria Monday morning.

The accident occurred on Route 5066 near the Israeli town of Revava, west of Ariel, when a vehicle with Palestinian Authority license plates collided with several Israeli cars.

A total of seven people were injured in the accident.

MDA emergency first responders were called to the scene to treat the injured, and were joined by IDF medics and an ambulance from the PA’s Red Crescent (a member of the International Red Cross).

The injured included three Israelis and four PA residents. One of the three Israelis, a 22-year-old woman, was evacuated by an MDA ambulance in moderate condition to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. Two other Israelis were listed as lightly injured.

Of the four PA residents injured in the accident, one was eventually declared dead at the scene, while another was evacuated by a Red Crescent ambulance in serious condition. The injured PA residents were transported to a local PA hospital.

Route 5066 was closed to traffic in both directions following the accident.

Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

“This was a serious traffic between a truck and several private cars,” said MDA paramedic Neriya Katua.

“Two passengers were trapped in one of the cars; they were extricated with the help of a firefighting unit. A 35-year-old man who had been critically injured was found with no vital signs, and within a short time we declared his death. Another man was found in serious condition, and we treated him on the scene before he was evacuated by the Red Crescent with two others with light injuries.”

“There were three Israelis injured in the accident from two different cars [involved in the accident], including a 22-year-old woman in moderate condition. We provided them with first aid treatment before they were evacuated in moderate and light condition by an MDA ambulance to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.”
