The Higher Planning Council for Judea and Samaria approved the plan to build the first assisted living facility in Samaria Wednesday.

In total, 250 units will be built in the project at Elkana.

"It is fitting that these tidings come precisely in the year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Elkana and the 50th anniversary of the resettlement of Judea and Samaria, a year in which we salute the veterans who were pioneers leading the rest of us, and who will eventually grow old in the places they built with the sweat of their brows, alongside their children," said Elkana Council Head Assaf Mintzer.

"I would like to thank the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the Head of the Civil Administration and the Planning Bureau, and with my friends on the Yesha Council for the push and assistance to advance and approve the plan.

"Elkana and its vision continue to lead the entire region to prosperity, growth and renewal, and now with the approval of the assisted living facility - also in caring for the elderly. This is how we have acted, and it is how we will act in the future, for the sake of the future of all of us here," the council chairman said.
