Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu instructed Tourism Minister Yariv Levin to promote a new NGO law that will allow the closing of associations that operate against IDF soldiers or call for a boycott of Israel, Channel 2 reported Monday evening.

According to the report, at a forum of coalition party leaders that took place several months ago, Netanyahu said that the "NGO Law" he passed was too soft and that a more significant law should be enacted.

Minister Levin recently held a number of discussions on the proposed law, its goal being to make it as difficult as possible for associations that operate directly or indirectly against the IDF or the State of Israel.

The wording of the law is being formulated and will then be forwarded to the relevant legal bodies for review and approval by the Prime Minister.

Netanyahu will try to form a broad consensus for the move in order to present the renewed proposal for discussion and voting during the Knesset's winter session.
