Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) spoke on Saturday evening about US President Donald Trump's Friday speech on the Iran deal.

"The Iranians have already said that they are expanding their ballistic missile program and their attack weapons, but the Europeans continue to bury their heads in the sand, just like they did before World War II," Liberman said. "When you look at the crises in Europe, you realize that they are not random, they're because the leadership prefers to ignore reality. Trump did the right thing when gave Congress the authority to make decisions regarding sanctioning Iran."

"I would like to remind you that what is happening in Syria is only thanks to Iranian support. Without the Iranian regime, Hezbollah would not exist. Since the sanctions on Iran were removed, the country has increased its support for Hezbollah. Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah form a triangle which grows continuously stronger and more connected."

Regarding Education Minister Naftali Bennett's (Jewish Home) demand Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sever all ties with the Palestinian Authority, Liberman said that he "deals with security and settlements, and does not intend to discuss elections."

Liberman also said he does not expect Netanyahu to call for early elections, but that "some of the right-wing politicians are messianic and populist."
