President Donald Trump responded Monday to the mass shooting attack in Nevada which claimed at least 50 lives and left hundreds more wounded.

The shooting, which surpassed the 2016 Orlando nightclub massacre to become the deadliest mass shooting on American soil, took place Sunday night at a country music festival at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.

The gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, opened fire on concertgoers from the balcony of his 32nd-story room in the Mandalay Bay hotel.

On Monday, President Trump tweeted his condolences to the families of the victims.

“My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!”

A SWAT team breached the door to Paddock's room, shooting and killing the gunman.

Two police officers were among the dead, along with two more who were wounded, including one now in critical condition.
