In August 1938 the Arabs desecrated the Yemenite Beit Knesset in the Shiloach and all Jewish residents were evicted from the area due to the riots and pogroms.

Nearly 80 years later, 20 Jewish families and dozens of yeshiva students are once again living in the old Yemenite Village of Shiloach.

This afternoon (Thursday) the Jewish community of Kfar HaShiloach is celebrating the dedication of two Torah scrolls into the original Beit Knesset - Ohel Shlomo.

The scrolls were provided to the Kfar HaShiloach community by the Kermier and Dobner families.

Another Torah scroll is currently being written specifically for the neighborhood by the Lieberman family.
