Woman killed in traffic accident in northern Israel

A female pedestrian about 40 years of age was killed in near the Halafta Junction in the Upper Galilee region after being hit by a truck.

MDA received an emergency call this afternoon, Tuesday, about woman who had been hit by a truck on Route 85. Arriving to the scene, paramedics reported finding a woman about 40 years of age suffering from serious injuries and without vital signs. They confirmed her death at the scene.

Senior medic Haytam Dagash, who was present at the scene, reported: “On the side of the road near a private vehicle that had been badly damaged, a woman of about 40 years lay unconscious with severe systemic injuries.”

“Witnesses at the scene told us that she had been hit by a passing truck as she stood near her car.

“We executed medical checks in order to give her treatment, but her injuries were very serious, and her death was confirmed within a short amount of time.”
