The United States Secret Service is stretched to the breaking point. The organization mandated to protect the president and his family says that Donald Trump's constant travel is bankrupting the agency.

USA Today reports that guarding the Trump's multiple residences and large family is too much for the agency to handle. They have already hit the amount the federal government permits them to pay for overtime, and Secret Service Director Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex'' Alles told the newspaper that they need a budget infusion from Congress just to pay it's agents on time.

President Trump likes spending the weekend at his golf clubs, and has already made seven trips to his private club in Florida and five to his New Jersey resort. The president's children also fly around the world for business reasons, and the constant travel has taken a toll on the agency.

They have hired 800 new agents in an attempt to keep up, but that number is much lower once the 300 agents who departed from the Secret Service in 2016 are factored in.
