The family of Lt. Hadar Goldin demanded that the government implement the cabinet decisions intended to put pressure on Hamas to return their son's body and the body of Sgt. Oron Shaul.

Goldin and Shaul have been held by the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip since Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

The Cabinet unanimously voted in January to adopt three measures to pressure Hamas to return the soldiers' bodies. One of the measures the Cabinet decided to adopt was not to return the bodies of Hamas terrorists who were killed while carrying out terrorist attacks and to bury the bodies in a cemetery for enemy dead.

The other measures were to be the imposition of stricter conditions on Hamas terrorists in Israeli prisons, and restrictions on the transfer of good into Gaza.

The measures were to last until Hamas returned the soldiers' bodies.

Attorneys Aviad Hacohen and Oded Svorai appealed to the prime minister and defense minister on behalf of the Goldin family and demanded that the government implement the plan which the Cabinet unanimously adopted.

The Goldin family also demanded that the government announce any intention to return the bodies of Hamas members or the bodies of terrorists Hamas wants returned at least 72 hours in advance.

Approximately 30 bodies of terrorists have been returned over the last six months while the Goldin and Shaul families were not given any opportunity to voice their objections to the return of the bodies and to exaust their legal rights.
