Security sources reported that according to intelligence, the Jordanian parliamentarian who told MK Oren Hazan (Likud) to meet him at the Allenby Crossing decided in the end that he would not come.

Meanwhile, Hazan himself began to make his way to the crossing, until he received instructions from Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Chief of Staff Yoav Horowitz not to go to the border or meet the Jordanian.

Earlier, this week, the Jordanian MP invited Hazan to a fistfight on Wednesday morning at the Allenby Crossing.

"I will beat you up, you despicable person hiding behind American aid," the Jordanian MP wrote.

"I accept the Jordanian MP's invitation to a meeting on the bridge, and at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow I will arrive at the Allenby Bridge for a one-to-one discussion. I have an offer that he will not be able refuse," Hazan wrote back, unfazed.

The reason behind the Jordanian's angry invitation of the is a tweet Hazan wrote following last week’s incident involving an Israeli security guard near the embassy in Amman.

"It appears as though our neighbors east of the Jordan River, those who we provide with water and whose back we protect day and night, need some re-education," Hazan tweeted then. "It's beginning to feel like we should say goodbye permanently."
