The Jerusalem District Attorney indicted five Arab residents of the capital for incitement to violence Monday, and encouraging terror attacks, and requested that the five be denied bail until the legal proceedings against them are finished.

Three out of the five were indicted for celebrating the deadly terror attack on the Temple Mount which left two policemen dead, as well as calling on others to do the same. The incitements were approved by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, who decided that the severe nature of the crimes outweighed freedom of speech infringement concerns.

Muhammad Mukamar, 19, from Anatah, was also indicted for Facebook posts dating back to September 2014, in which he called on others to commit violent attacks against civilians and security forces. He also supported Hamas, and wrote about Hamas in glowing terms. After the recent terror attack on the Temple Mount, he wrote on Facebook that "today is the Friday of Martyrs".

Later that same day, Mukamer shared a picture of a wounded policeman at the scene being treated by paramedics, writing that "have a nice time in hell."

Saif Abu Gum'ah, 21, from Abu Tor, was also indicted for uploading memes to his Facebook account that encouraged terrorism. Gum'ah also wrote that "with a knife, rock, ax, and firebomb, they left from Umm al-Fahm, we were raised on the death of the righteous." He wrote later on that "Today Palestine received four more martyrs. Our dead are in paradise, and theirs are burning in fire."
