According to Jewish tradition, 'when the month of Av arrives, we minimize joy.'

This week's sobering, hard-hitting edition of Temple Talk finds our hosts reflecting on this concept in the light of the sequence of recent events that have driven the beleaguered Temple Mount to the top of the headlines: the terrorist murder of two Israeli police officers on the Temple Mount, the savage murder of a family last Shabbat evening, the Israeli government's attempt to increase security on the Mount - and as ever, the world's reaction and the absurd double-standard by which all things Israeli are measured.

Yitzchak Reuven and Rabbi Chaim Richman use a different standard of measure as they analyze and examine these events on Temple Talk in the context of the traditional period of mourning for the Holy Temple and the awesome trajectory of Jewish history and Jewish destiny.

No musical introduction or conclusion is featured in this week's Temple Talk, in keeping with the custom of the Nine Days of Av leading up to the fast of Tisha B'Av next week.
