An IDF officer was killed in today's road accident (Monday) in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Military police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and will also conduct a command investigation.

The accident occurred on Route 232 in the Gaza area. The officer, a young man in his 20s, was killed on the spot and two people were moderately and lightly injured.

Last Thursday, soldier Habatmo Ababa and reserve soldier Ya'akov Tuati were killed when a military truck overturned on Highway 12, five kilometers north of Eilat.

The head of the Technology and Logistics Division, Major General Aharon Haliva, appointed an investigation committee headed by Colonel Nitzan Mamrud, commander of the Logistics School, to investigate the circumstances of the incident. In addition, the Military Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident that took place when the two soldiers were preparing for operational deployment on the Israeli-Egyptian border.

About an hour after last week's accident and until yesterday, the IDF stopped all non-operational transportation to refresh and refine procedures.
