The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Shlomo Ne'eman, warned on Arutz Sheva of the creeping takeover by the Palestinian Authority of farmland in Gush Etzion in order to establish facts on the ground.

Ne'eman relates that "there is a whole system here that the Palestinian Authority is leading to change [the situation in this] regarding the land in this area. It is a large-scale plan whose goal is to take control of the land. And they simply take [the plots] over in order to establish facts on the ground."

He called on the state to act immediately and noted that PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas' family owns a cement plant in the area of Ma'ale Amos in the Gush Etzion Regional Authority.

"I demand they bring forces here to enforce the law and stop the Palestinian takeover, There is an agricultural takeover of large areas of Neve Daniel, Ma'ale Amos, Metzad and the Judean Desert. There are castings in the millions here. The Palestinian Authority set up a cement plant...which is owned by Abu Mazen's (Mahmoud Abbas) family, on the reserve areas in the southeast of Gush Etzion near the community of Ma'ale Amos.

"In addition, the PA has worked to break through a road connecting the Arab village of Tekoa to the Dead Sea, which will create an Arab territorial contiguity between East and West Judea and Samaria, part of a comprehensive Palestinian Authority plan called the Fayyad Plan. This plan is meant to create facts on the ground in Area C and establish a Palestinian State including it and must be prevented at any cost."

Ne'eman expressed his regret that the plan to expand the Arab city of Qalqiliya on a large scale was not cancelled, but merely frozen after the prime minister realized that there was no majority in the cabinet to approve the plan.

"It is a pity that this has only been postponed and has not been canceled. I hope that this [cancellation] will happen later. To transfer land in Area C to the PA means removing territories which belong to us and giving them to the other side. It is a dangerous plan," he warned.
