Rabbi Mordechai Bunim Zilberberg, a close associate of the leader of the Lithuanian haredi community, Rabbi Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman, referred to the attacks on haredi soldiers last Saturday and called the attacks "terrible acts."

The rabbi of the Shikun Hashem neighborhood in Bnei Brak explained that those who wish to cling to acts of 'zealotry' are committing a grave desecration of God's name and cause tremendous damage to the haredi community.

"You have to bring the soldiers closer by treating them properly," Rabbi Zilberberg said. "It will cause the sanctification of God's name and everyone will see our kindness."

He said that "these same people are doing exactly the opposite and are doing tremendous damage to the haredi community."
