A 30-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter were seriously injured in a fire that broke out in a Tel Aviv apartment on Thursday night.

The two were evacuated to the Tel Hashomer Hospital with second and third degree burns to 60% of their bodies.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, and the building was evacuated.

Magen David Adom paramedics Yiftach Levi and Shachar Lerer, who arrived at the scene, said, "Upon arrival we saw thick smoke coming out of a residential building.”

“The firefighters rescued from one of the apartments a woman who was unconscious and suffering from second and third degree burns to 60% of her body and from smoke inhalation, and a teenage girl, fully conscious and suffering from extensive burns and smoke inhalation as well,” they added.

“We gave them life-saving medical treatment at the scene and rushed them to the hospital in serious but stable condition.”
