Within the context of Religious Zionist opposition to the army “mixed gender directive,” the army has decided to establish separate living quarters for male and female soldiers at pillbox military posts.

A report this morning in Makor Rishon said that the step was taken after a series of complaints in recent months over the close contact between male and female soldiers entailed at pillbox posts as well as the mixed sleeping arrangements at the posts.

An IDF official confirmed the details.

At the end of 2017, when Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot had promised Religious Zionist rabbis that mixed-gender army bathrooms would be cancelled.
