An alternative rock singer and widow of one of the world’s most prominent grunge rock musicians slammed pro-BDS activist and Sharia law advocate Linda Sarsour Wednesday, calling the anti-Israel figure “an anti-Semitic fear mongering liar” and a “vile disgrace”.

Courtney Love Cobain, widow of Nirvana singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, who also gained prominence as the frontwoman for the alternative rock band Hole, excoriated Sarsour in a series of tweets Wednesday.

“You're a vile disgrace to women and all mankind @lsarsour,” Cobain wrote.

Cobain’s comments came after Sarsour raised more than $100,000 on behalf of a woman, Rahma Warsame, who falsely claimed to have been the victim of a hate crime.

Warsame, a 45-year old Columbus, Ohio woman of Somalian origin, was involved in an altercation Saturday with a Hispanic neighbor. The fight allegedly began when 31-year old Samantha Morales witnessed Warsame striking a child in the face with a shoe.

After Morales confronted Warsame, the two began arguing and eventually came to blows.

Columbus police say that no evidence exists suggesting the incident was a hate crime, or that Warsame’s ethnicity was at all a factor.

Nevertheless, Sarsour and others promoted Warsame’s claim that she was targeted as a Muslim, raising money on her behalf.

In response, Cobain took Sarsour to task, calling her a “fraud”.

“This incident never occurred. yet she collected all this money. Where is the money now? Sorry but she's a criminal.”

“She’s a fraud.”

“I worked my ass off my entire life to defend women, I didn't create fake stories and lie about them nor rip people off financially. Linda.”

“[S]eems like a publicity stint and perhaps it's been effective for her, but I know a rat when I see one.”

In a series of follow-up comments, Cobain noted Sarsour’s history of radical comments and fringe anti-Israel statements.

“Well now I believe she's nothing less than a fraud. she appears to be a anti American fear mongering fraud.”

“[She’s an… anti-Semitic fear mongering liar.”

Sarsour hit back, noting Cobain’s race and accusing her of using her celebrity to harm Warsame.

"Welcome to America where a white woman ‘celebrity’ uses her platform to deny that a Black immigrant Muslim woman was brutally assaulted."
