British police on Tuesday arrested a 38-year-old man at London's Heathrow Airport in connection with the recent Manchester Arena attack, ABC News reported.

The unidentified man was arrested on suspicion of offences contrary to the UK's Terrorism Act, said the Greater Manchester Police.

"The arrest was planned beforehand and there was no direct threat to the airport," police said in a statement, adding that the suspect is currently in custody.

22 people were killed in the bombing on May 22 at the Manchester Arena, following a concert by American pop singer Ariana Grande.

So far, British police have arrested 19 people in connection with the bombing. Of those, seven men remain in custody for questioning, police said Tuesday.

Grande on Sunday held a One Love Manchester benefit concert, two weeks after the attack, which raised more than $3.5 million for the victims.

Britain remains on high alert following recent terror attacks on the country. On Saturday, seven people were killed in an attack on the London Bridge.
