A day after he was interrogated by police it has been reported by Channel 10 that MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) does not intend to run for the next Knesset.

According to the report, Slomiansky has already decided to end his political career, which includes 12 years in the Knesset.

It was also reported that Slomiansky's decision had nothing to do with the investigation being held against him, since it is not expected to lead to an indictment. Sources close to Slomiansky said that he feels that he has fulfilled his goals and, at 72, is older than most Knesset members.

Slomiansky told the Knesset legal advisor that he intends once again to head the Legislative Committee, despite having suspended himself from the committee half a year ago.

Slomiansky's bureau denied the reports and claimed that he does not intend retiring from politics.
